German Recipe: Dampfnudeln
This is a south German traditional dish. Tasty yeast dumplings with Vanilla Sauce or Applesauce. Very delicious and not too difficult to make.

Ingredients
- 300g Flour (All Purpose)
- 170 ml Soy Milk (warm)
- 2 tsp dry Yeast
- 1 tbsp Margarine
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 100 ml Water + 2 tbsp Sugar
- Pinch of Salt
- To serve with:
-Vanilla Sauce or Applesauce
Instruction
- Put in a Bowl: Flour, Sugar, a Pinch of Salt, Yeast and Margarine and mix with warm(!) Soy Milk
- Knead the Dough for a few minutes and let it rise covered for 1 hour.
- Knead the Dough again and form 4 Dumplings.
Put the Dumplings in a greased Pot and let them rest covered for 20 minutes. - Bring the water in the covered Pot to boil. Start with high heat and then turn it slowly down. Dont remove the lid at anytime before finished.
- The Dumplings are ready when the water is mostly gone. You can hear a sizzling sound. It takes around 18 minutes.
- Serve with Vanilla Sauce or Applesauce.
