Indonesian Recipe: Gado Gado

Gad Gado is a very healthy Snack. Steamed Vegetables are served with a delicious sweet and spicy Peanut Sauce.

    Mixed Vegetables:

  • 2 cups Broccoli Florets
  • 1 cup Carrots cut
  • 2 cups Cabbage chopped
  • 2 cups Bean Sprouts
  • 1 Cucumber cut
  • 1 cup green Beans cut
  • 300g fried Tofu
  • Sauce:

  • 1 cup roasted Peanuts
  • 2 tbsp Tamarind Concentrate
  • 1 tbsp (Palm) Sugar
  • 2 Cloves Garlic chopped
  • 2 red Chili chopped
  • 3 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Lime Juice


  1. Put Peanuts, Garlic, Chili and 1 cup Water into a Blender and grind into a fine paste
  2. Mix Sugar, Tamarind, Soy Sauce and Lime Juice with 1/2 cup warm Water and wait until the Sugar is dissolved. Then mix it with the Peanut Paste.
  3. Steam all the Vegetables except the cucumber for about 6-10 minutes. Or blanch them for a short time in boiling water.
  4. Serve Vegetables and Tofu with the Peanut Sauce
