Vietnamese Recipe: Tofu in a Tomato-Pepper Sauce

This is a very easy Vietnamese Tofu Recipe. The Tofu comes in a flavorful Tomato-Pepper Sauce and can be eaten with rice.

  • 400g Tofu diced
  • 5 Plum Tomatoes chopped
  • 1-2 red Chili chopped
  • 2 Cloves Garlic chopped
  • 1 Shallot chopped
  • a few green Onions cut
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • Oil for frying the Tofu


  1. Fry the diced Tofu on a high Flame with enough Oil until they are golden brown and put aside
  2. Heat 2 tbsp Oil and fry the Shallots, Chili and Garlic for 2 minutes on a medium flame
  3. Add the chopped Tomatoes and fry for about 10 minutes. Add a tiny bit of water if necessary
  4. Add the Tofu, Soy Sauce, green Onions and Pepper, mix well and it let it cook for 1 more minute
